After spending a lot of years hosting this site on a little-used subnet of my alma mater, and dealing with significantly frequent and long-lasting downtime and other issues, I figured it was well past time to finally get a domain just for this purpose. I'll try and keep a forwarding link and a mirror on the old server, but the primary host will be here. Please update your bookmarks accordingly.

It's also been way too long since I've updated the site, and there's not much excuse, but in the meantime, I've at least had the reassurance that Sharon's official site was keeping things from being too devoid of information. Currently, there are two titles coming soon - the next book in the "Twelve Houses" series, called Fortune and Fate, is due out on 4th November, 2008. Additionally, another anthology (Powers of Detection II) which will contain another of Ms. Shinn's short stories, "The House of Seven Spirits," should be released sometime in the latter portion of 2008.

In 2009, Ms. Shinn will be attending Capricon 29 as a Guest of Honor. She will also have two titles due out in fall of 2009 - one a YA title, and the other a collection of four of her own novellas. Keep an eye open here, as well as on Ms. Shinn's official news page.

A winner of the William Crawford Award for Achievement in Fantasy, the IAFA Fantasy Award (1996), and the Dell Award for the best new science fiction writer of '95/'96, as well as having been nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, Ms. Shinn has thus far penned several captivating novels and contributed some shorter works to collections- many pieces set on the fascinating world known as Samaria.  When not marvelling us as a novelist, she also works as a journalist in St. Louis.
