Narrative

Note: Lester and Lawrence Fredrick

After the deaths of their parents in 1920, Lawrence and Lester Fredrick were raised by their maternal grandmother, Mathilda (Wendt) Stargard. In the 1940 US Census, Mathilda's household consisted of her unmarried daughter Viola (age 39) and her grandson Lawrence (age 19), her husband Julius (father to Viola, grandfather to Lawrence) having passed away in 1934. I have not yet located a 1930 US Census record that would show both grandson (Lawrence and older brother Lester) living with Julius and Mathilda.

ADDENDUM: I've since located and transcribed the 1930 US Census record for the Stargard household, which includes the 14-year-old "Lester F." and the 10-year-old "Lawrence F." In the record, the Fredrick boys are listed as "sons."
